Day 2

Day 2

This morning started with some downtime and a chance to play games before breakfast. We were then served a cooked breakfast which set us up perfectly for the day. Plenty of sun cream was applied before getting our boots on and heading out for the day.

A long walk lay ahead of us and provided us with lots of opportunities to take in the sights the Derbyshire country side has to offer. We walked through plenty of fields full of sheep and even tried to help a distressed lamb get back to its mother.

The weather was glorious and lots of drink stops were needed. The  children were also very responsible when it came to reapplying sun cream and some had to be told that they probably had a little too much. We stopped for lunch in Eyam and had a welcome rest and refilled our water bottles.

Tired legs were setting in on the return walk but the children showed great resilience and determination to continue on. We also had to navigate our way over some rather tricky stiles which one child described as 'parkour'.

Eventually, we arrived back at the centre. Juice and showers were next on the agenda before a chance to play on the park and kick a football around. Mrs Harding arrived and joined us for dinner (mac and cheese). She gave us a wide range of art and craft activities which were a perfect, calming activity after such a tiring day.

After saying bye to Mrs harding, we settled down for a film and hot chocolate before heading to our rooms for some much needed sleep.
