Day 1
DAY 1 - Monday 3rd June 2024
After packing the coach and waving good-bye we set off for Keswick. The journey was a smooth one and we arrived in Keswick early in the afternoon. We even managed to see some camels on the farm near the services. Upon arrival we went took our lunch to Fitz Park. The weather just managed to hold out so we didn't get soggy sandwiches. After we got a chance to play on the park equipment which was a great opportunity to see how many children could fit on one swing.
We then began the first walk of our stay here in Keswick. A short stroll around the town led us to Friar's Cragg and our first chance to see the spectacular scenery on offer over Derwentwater. We tried skimming stones across the water before heading home though a field of sheep and their lambs.
When we got back to the centre we unpacked, ate our tea (fish, chips and sweetcorn) and played a few games together. Keep your eyes on the post over the next few days as something may be arriving through the letter box.
We can't wait to explore more of the Cumbrian countryside tomorrow.
