Keswick – Day 2

We have had a great first full day exploring the hills and mountains surrounding Keswick. Our day started with an open top bus which dropped us off at the start of our route. It was great to feel the wind rushing through our hair and the passing trees brought in lots of wildlife to join us on the journey. After leaving the bus we began to climb the steep ascent up the hills pausing every now and again to take in the spectacular views. Miss Evans and Mr Barber got slightly competitive trying to capture the best image.

Once we had reached the highest part of our climb we begin to meander through the hills before stopping at Surprise View to refuel. It was all downhill after lunch and as we dropped through the hills we found time for stone skimming, ice-cream and plane spotting. An eagle-eyed Harley was quick to inform us that the unusual looking aircraft overhead were indeed Ospreys. We then hopped back on the bus and made our way home for a wonderful meal of pizza, curly fries and salad followed by jelly and ice-cream.

In an attempt to use up the remaining energy we had left we took a walk to the park after tea. We had great fun on the playground or playing a variety of sports including football, cricket, rounders and catching games. I think we’ll all sleep well tonight!
