Day 5
Yet again a number of children had to be woken up this morning. There was a lot to do after breakfast as we carried on packing. Amazingly there were items of clothing that initially appeared to have no owners! The cuddly toys that had greeted us on our arrival were, in some cases, too cute to leave behind so found their way into bags and arms to return to Mansfield.
Afte saying thank you to the wonderful centre staff we set off for Castleton, a short drive away. We went on a short walk around the village - trying to avoid all the other school groups that had appeared. After lunch we set off to The Peak Cavern (it does have another name!!). We heard how rope was made in the caves and we walked down into the cave, it was amazing!
Back at school it ws joyful reunions all round. It has been a fabulous week - thank you to Mrs Jackowska, Mr Harding, Mrs Raybold and Mr Moncur for giving up their time to enable us to have a brilliant week. We hope to be back next year!
