Monday 22nd May

Day one

After waving good bye at Asquith we had a steady journey up to Keswick. We all enjoyed watching the distant mountains getting closer and Miss Evans even managed to see some camels. Upon arrival, we swiftly unloaded the coach, grabbed our bags and headed to Fitz Park to eat our lunch. A picnic in the park was followed by our first chance to play on the park equipment without scaring away too many of the local residents.

We then begun the first walk of our stay here in Keswick. A short walk around the town led us to Friar's Cragg and our first chance to see the spectacular scenery on offer. We were all in awe of the breath-taking views over Derwentwater Lake. After we tried our hand at skimming stones and then set off back for home.

When we got back to the centre we unpacked, ate our tea (fish, mash and sweetcorn) and played a few games together. Keep your eyes on the post over the next few days as something may be arriving through the letter box.

We can't wait to explore more of the Cumbrian countryside tomorrow.
