Day 4 - Hucklow 2024
We woke up to a frosty morning with beautiful blue skies and sunshine. The children had a little bit of quiet time before breakfast, some played top trumps, whilst other chose to exercise. We then enjoyed another lovely breakfast.
After breakfast and the room inspections we all got ready to head off to Matlock Farm Park, everyone was looking forward to it.
When we arrived at the farm park, we put our bags in a lovely decorated room and went out to see the animals, after lunch someone from the park told us about meerkats and asked questions about where Meerkats live, 2 children who answered a question correctly got the opportuity to throw eggs into the Meerkat enclosure, we all then were able to throw live mealworms into feed them.
We all then went around the park, fed the animals and were able to stroke a guinea pig, rabbit and tortoise.
The children and Mrs J enjoyed the experience of jumping on the giant air pillow and the children loved the time in the park.
It was then time to go to the shop and catch the bus back to Hucklow. As we travelled back alot of the children had a little sleep after a busy day and the weather changed (We have been so lucky with the weather this week).
When we arrived back at Hucklow, we did a little bit of packing and then played parachute games and made things out of clay.
Dinner was absolutely amazing - Chicken, roast potatoes, broccoli, carrots, yorkshire pudding and gravy followed by chocolate cake and sauce - there were plenty of clean plates!
After Dinner we watched Marmaduke in 2 parts with party games inbetween - Pass the parcel, pin the microphone, musical chairs and colour corners - A big thank you to Mrs J for organising the games.
After the second part of the film during which the children enjoyed hot chocolate and a biscuit, the 3 children in the room with the highest score for the week were given a prize - The photographs show how tidy the room was - well done.
The children were a little later to bed this evening, they settled well as they were all ready for a good nights sleep and Mr Harding said "and so were the adults".
