SATS STARS! Congratulations to all our year 6 children! We are extremely proud of how you have applied yourself and excelled during this week and throughout your time at Asquith!
NOW-PRESS-PLAY! As part of our online safety unit of work, this week we have completed a Now-Press-Play experience about online bullying. During the experience we learnt about different types of bullying, the consequences of bullying, and what do to if you experience bullying.
5/6G RESCUE A BEE! We are extremely proud of all those involved in rescuing a dying bee. With a little help from last week's reading comprehension, the caring nature of our children, and a sugar and water mix, we were able to ensure the bee survived.
Castleton Trip - our Nature Walk. Everyone did really well and we had a great time outside, walking in Derbyshire, listening to the sounds around us, watching how the landscape changed as we moved and with the weather. We had a lovely lunch outside. Then walked back to the Hostel for a warm juice drink before back on the bus to come home.
Royal Society Young People's Book Prize 2021For the second year running our school has been chosen to run a Judging Panel for the Royal Society Young People's Book Prize. 12 children from class 5/6G have been chosen to take part in the panel. They are going to be given the chance to read all six science books and then give their opinions as to which book should win. We will be holding our Judging Panel in the last week of term. If you have been lucky enough to have been chosen then get reading! Mr Gregory will give the children time to read in class and they will then come together to discuss and vote on their favourite.
