Christingle Service
Wed 18 Dec 2024On Monday 16th December a Christingle Service was held in school. Most children in school took part, learning about how the whole Christingle represents the birth of Jesus.
Each element of a Christingle has a special meaning and helps to tell the Christian story:
- The orange represents the world
- The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
- The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations
- The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.
We could not have done this service without the support of our local supermarket, The Co-op, who provided us with the oranges. Oak Tree Tesco also provided support. Our sincere thanks to them.
