We had great time today at Forest Town Library. Thank you to the library that hosted our visit, how lovely were the staff?
We heard all about the library, the clubs and craft activities that they do plus the Summer Reading Challenge. Some children were able to borrow books, more are getting a library card soon!
Thank you to all the parents who came with us today to join in library joy!! We hope you all enjoyed it!
The Library is free so make the most of it over the summer! You can go to any library in Nottinghamshire and borrow books, or join in their crafts and clubs.
Looking forward to next week's visits now with classes 3S and 3/4A.
Last night was the Power in Three concert at Mansfield Palace Theatre. Three schools, Abbey, Asquith and Wynndale all took part in singing and music sessions, with each school having a band and a choir, as well as the three school choir.
The children did brilliantly, some amazing talent was evident! Well done to everyone. Lots of big smiles all round. The photos show that joy. There are some of Asquith's choir and then our children in the three schools choir and then a few of our friends from Abbey and Wynndale too.
It was a great night - thank you to everyone who supported us - either parents in the audience or staff members looking after the children, staff members who worked with choirs and bands to make sure they sounded so beautiful. A special big thank you to Mr Hynd, for his work pulling the whole three school choir together! What an amazing achievement.
Mansfield Wildlife Watch are keen to have more members from schools, so if your child loves nature, bugs and the outdoors then this once a month activity on a Saturday morning might be for them!
You drop them off at St Marks Church on Nottingham Road, its FREE and it's two hours. 10.30 to 12.30.

You may remember Joel and Ethan, brothers who used to come to Asquith Primary School. Very sadly, Joel passed away on 2nd Sept 2024.
His brother, Ethan, is walking to raise money for Joel's special page on the umbrella charity CCLG, towards research projects into the condition that Joel had.
Ethan is walking 20km in the Peak District with his scouting friends. To support him and to show that we are still thinking about him and his family, the staff team have raised money for Ethan and made a donation to the fundraising page. We took photos with our thumbs up as that was Joel's usual pose!
You may wish to support Ethan with fundraising though his hike too. You can find the page by searching 'Thumbs Up For Joel' on the CCLG website.
