Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We've followed a sensory rope trail through the woods, found out more about the woods and nature in the area, created a sniff pot from the herb garden.
After an excellent lunch, we abseiled and completed a zip line.
After tea it was camp fire, with singing, musical instruments and marshmallows before completing an evaluation and a few games before bed. Our last night!
Another fantastic day, we've had a great day on the farm!! We have looked after the animals, fed and watered them, groomed the horses and had a ride in a pony and trap! We learned all about pigs, sheep horses, goats, chickens and Hector the tortoise. Lots of smiles and a tutor that kept us on track and focused!
Oh my goodness, what fun we have had today! Started with archery, competing against ourselves to improve. Mountain biking, brand new bikes to use, through mud, over little hills, peddling up steep hills. Some children now able to ride a bike who couldn't before! So proud of everyone!
After lunch we went on a hike, finding out about the nearby woods. It was VERY muddy! Caving was challenging for lots of children, but many who didn't want to do it initially found they really enjoyed it. After tea we had a night walk, all linked together holding a rope, followed by a game of night sardines, which involved finding the teachers in the dark!!!
Well we have had a fun day, setting off at 8am to drive to Essex!
We are here with children from Wynndale to have 5 days of fun and games.
We have ended our day with seeing if eggs can fly, a team game and in between we've had a tour of the site, played Crossing the Swamp and done a ropes course.
Tired out we've spent time in our rooms and are now trying to go to sleep, always a challenge on the first night!
More to follow tomorrow!
We have completed our Science Book project for the Royal Society Young People's Book Prize for 2024. The year 6 judging panel voted for ' Can You Get Rainbows in Space' as their favourite book. We now are able to keep these amazing books in school!
Well done to all the year 6's who took part, those who chaired the meeting, and contributed their opinions!! Well done all!
We have had support from Sandra Alvey from Mansfield District Council for this half term with a cooking club. Each Wed after school the children have worked with Sandra and Mrs Nessa to create various meals to take home for their tea. They have practised their chopping and mixing skills and created some wonderful things like blueberry muffins, flavoured couscous, pizza, cereal desserts and a sausage plait! How wonderful do these photos look.
Hopefully Sandra can come back again and run another Club next year. Thank you to Mrs Nessa for stepping in to help and support.
