Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We have been very lucky to have secured a TESCO Stronger Starts grant this year to support the development of Club provision. Our children have been lucky enough to have the extra equipment bought with this grant and had chance to take part in Crochet Club, Girls Football, Junk Modelling Club, Magazine Club, Yoga Club - please see pictures. Yoga has been a particular success with girls in year 4 and 5 taking part in warm ups, Yoga and meditation. Both Boys and girls joined in Crochet Club and found out its not as easy as they thought it was going to be! However we had some success and some children had their own crochet sets brought for Christmas! Girls football have been able to use the new footballs and really improved their skills - the competition was fierce with girls torn between attending two Clubs!
Junk modelling has been a great success with children really excited about using the new Chompsaws! So popular we had to ask for approval to buy an extra Chompsaw - all the children thought they were so good. Magazine Club has encouraged staff to bring in any copies of old children's magazines they had at home, so as well as the ones purchased through our Tesco grant we now have a back stock of old magazines.
We have also purchased games and toys that are being used in Lunch Clubs - from giant Jenga to ball shooting, from wobble boards and fancy walking frames. Card games are going to be used in Lunch Clubs - Uno to Quokka, magnetic tiles to dominoes, classic card games to Dog Man Hot Dog card games.
This equipment should provide many happy hours of play for our children, both now and in the future. We need to look after it and make sure it is a legacy to hand on to future groups of children. We cannot thank Tesco enough for the grant and support they have given to us. Wea re already thinking about the next project, so we can apply again!
