“Four children from Breakfast Club, travelled with Mrs Crofts and Mrs Brown all the way to London on Wednesday 4th March to collect our award for being named as Kellogg’s Best Breakfast Club in the East Midlands in 2019.
We all had a very exciting day travelling by taxi, train and London Underground. We were very lucky as it was a day for ‘Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace’ so we listened to a military band and watch the guards ride their horses across Horse Guards Parade ground.
We also found an old fashioned red telephone box.
We enjoyed lunch at the Houses of Parliament, courtesy of Kellogg’s and then were presented with our Award.
We all had a great day.“
All last term, the Young Voices choir has been rehearsing songs ready for the concert this month. Last Friday 10th January, we travelled to the Sheffield Arena to take part in a massive concert involving over 4000 children, professional artists and guest singers. These included Tony Hadley (from Spandau Ballet – remember them?) and Ruti Olajugbagbe (winner of The Voice 2018). We were treated to a spectacular show involving lights, singing and dancing, finally getting back to school at 10pm. It was a truly memorable night.

On Thursday 9th January, Y3/4 were visited by Lucy from Creswell Crags. The children got to experience digging like an archaeologist, making jewellery out of shells, cave painting and threading leather pouches. We were all fascinated by real life teeth from a sabre-tooth tiger and a woolly mammoth. Thank you to all the parents who donated £3 to make this visit possible.
We have been notified that there are a couple of performances coming soon to Mansfield Library. If you are interested in finding out more about either performance please click on the link below:
